Bird & Butterfly Garden

Bird and Butterfly Mission

The Bird and Butterfly Garden's focus is on educating visitors about shrubs, vines and herbaceous perennials that grow well in coastal Virginia in dry soil in full to part sun, and provide habitat for butterflies, bees, and/or birds. The garden includes plants that produce nectar or berries, are larval host plants, provide cover, nesting or overwintering sites as well as man-made features such as bird houses, bird bath and mason bee houses.
